Nearly 40 members of the Bath High School Interact club joined us for lunch Monday and conducted the meeting. Club advisor Missy Vandemark told us about 70 students are active in Interact and 43 of them met the requirement of 24 hours of service needed to attend the meeting and receive their Interact pins and patches. Some of the projects they worked on were Rotary's Special Needs Christmas Party, the Bath Schools Father/Daughter Dance, the Sadie Hawkins Dance, the West Ohio Food Bank, Flip The Switch, Meals 'Til Monday, Sertoma Pancake Breakfast, a Mock Crash, Click It Or Ticket, and much more. "We have awesome kids, that are busy kids. Our kids are super busy. Most of them have part time jobs, they're in a sport, they're in band, they're in other clubs, they're taking college courses. This is the best of the best. They are busy, but they still think it's important to serve and be a part of Interact." Interact President Kalie Kitchen told us volunteering has been a rewarding and eye opening experience. "The decision to join Interact and engage in my community has taught me a lot of lessons. First, how lucky I am that I never have been in need of these services. And second, just how one person like myself who sets a little bit of time can really make a difference in our community." This is Missy's last year of being club advisor. She was honored with a plaque.
