Site clearing has begun for the Rotary Community Stage and Park!
Immediately following Monday's regular Rotary meeting, many members walked down the street to the site of the new Rotary Community Stage and Park to watch the site clearing begin. After brief remarks and some rock throwing, the excavator took the first swipe at the old gas station and quickly demolished the building. The site is expected to be completely cleared in about 2 weeks, then dirt will be spread over the site and grass seed planted. We hope to break ground for the amphitheater in 2020. The site extends from Spring Street to Elm Street and is bounded by Union Street on the east and the backs of the Main Street buildings on the west.
