Lima Rotary mourns the loss of Barb Perry.
Longtime Rotary supporter Barbara Perry passed away Sunday, November 5. A community advocate and philanthropist, Barb was the wife of Rex Perry, who served as the Lima Rotary Club President in 1976-1977 and was a Paul Harris Fellow. Barb continued to support the causes and charities that meant the most to Rex following his death in 1999, including the Lima Rotary Club.

Rex founded Perry Corporation in 1965 and served as the president and CEO. Rex was known for his love of helping people achieve their greatest potential. He often served as a mentor to students in all walks of life. It is only fitting that for more than 20 years, the Lima Rotary Club has hosted the Rex Perry Memorial Scholarship Golf Outing to raise funds for scholarships for nontraditional post-secondary students in Allen County.

Barb carried on Rex’s legacy of scholarship support through her continued commitment to the Rex Perry Golf Outing each year. In 2024, the Lima Rotary Club will surpass the milestone of awarding $1million in scholarships to students.

Barb’s visitation will be Saturday, November 18, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm followed by a brief service at the Shawnee Chapel of Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services. A private family inurnment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions may be made to the Lima Rotary Scholarship Program c/o Rotary Club of Lima, P.O. Box 1111, Lima, OH 45802 or LimaRotary.com (please refer to Rotary Scholarship in notes if donating online).
