Rotary Basics Reference Guideline for Members
Brown provided each Board Member with the new Rotary Basics Reference Guide for Members that briefly covers RI history and values, the structure of the organization, and focuses a little on the future.  It provides a Glossary of Rotary Terms.  The cost is $2 each.  Brown suggested ordering them for the membership and handing them out at the club meetings.  Swartz also suggested that Board Members consider delivering the remaining ones to those who don‘t attend as a way of reconnecting with them.    Sarno made a motion to order the booklets and Hubbell seconded the motion.  Board approved.

    Grant Request updates                                                                         David Runk
Runk stated the original requests for District Grants for the Amphitheatre and the Kendrick Woods Boardwalk upgrade were submitted by July 31, 2018.  The District Grant Committee is asking for additional information on each request by Friday September 14, 2018.  Runk is currently working to provide the detail requested.

Ottawa River Bikeway Connectors                                                          Catheryn Sarno
Sarno stated being made aware of various cross sections of the current Rotary Riverwalk where there are three cement pylons that prevent cars from entering the path.  However, the pylons also prevent people with disabilities from enjoying the trail with a wheel chair or recumbent bicycles.   Removal of the middle pylon would solve the problem and allow access.  Information was shared with the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District.  Director Kevin Haver indicated knowing of two areas that meet the criteria.  1)  At the EOLM  on the south side and  2)  East of the Shawnee Fire Station on Fort Amanda Road.  Both of the locations were part of the original Rotary designed project and were put in place before ADA guidelines were released.   The JAMPD staff will remove the pylons in the foreseeable future.
