Here are the highlights from the October 12 board meeting.
Call to Order           Jeff Fitzgerald
President Fitzgerald called the meeting to order at 11:38 AM with the following members present:  Carol Buettner, Andy Farley, Lesley Fry, Keith Horner, Derek Stemen, Andy Wannemacher and John Ficorilli.  Also present were Treasurer Dan Best and Secretary Rita Brown.
 
Secretary’s Report           Rita Brown
Wannemacher made a motion to approve the Board Minutes of September 14, 2021 as submitted.   Buettner seconded the motion.  Board approved. 
    Attendance report for September 2021
Membership remained the same for the month of September with no new members joining and no resignations.  Attendance was 42.25% and rose by 1.47%
 
President’s Report          Jeff Fitzgerald
Rotaract Update – David Runk has requested being removed from his responsibilities with the Rotaract Club at this time.  John Ficorilli and Dave Frost will assume responsibilities as the liaisons between the Lima Rotary Club and the Rotaract Club.  Runk will assume responsibilities as the Chair of the Chaplain Committee.
Jerry Lucas/OSU Sports Memorabilia update
The Board discussed next steps in selling the tickets to a broader group.  Each Board Member will be asked to sell 10 tickets.  In addition, Board Members will be reaching out and offering the tickets to members of neighboring Rotary Clubs.  Stemen suggested a Social Media Account be opened and we put the information on Facebook.  Adah Ellerbrock has prepared a Step-by-Step Guide to assist the Board Members.  
Fall Blood Clinic – Saturday November 6, 2021.  Tracie Sanchez indicated all volunteers are in place.  An ad will appear in the paper.  Memorial Hospital has indicated individual results will no longer be mailed.  It will be necessary for those participating to go to the Memorial Hospital Patient Portal to open an account.  
Special Needs Christmas Party – December 4th  Demi Burden and Sophia Loser will be Chairing the Event with  Theresa Schnipke offering her expertise and help as needed. 
Bell Ringing Kettle Drive – Organized by Joe Watson.  The event will be held on Saturday December 11th from 9 AM – 5 PM.  Watson will bring sign-up sheets for those participating starting on November 1st.
Club Christmas Party - December 13, 2021 update - Farley has reached out to Jennifer Mason with assistance and updates regarding the “Elvis Auction” portion of the party.
Social Meeting Updates  The next meeting will be held in late November before the holidays.

Polio Plus plans                 Derek Stemen
Stemen stated during the first week of the campaign, the club raised $1500.  The campaign will continue during the month of October with an auction of 6 -8 items held on November 1, 2021.  Members can contribute by completing the Pledge Cards or also contribute on-line directly to Rotary International as indicated in the email from Stemen.  
Placemat Design
It is time to re-order the Rotary Placemats.  Decker is designing a mat that focuses of the accomplishments of the Lima Rotary Club.  The Club Members will also be asked to consider another option and if placemats are necessary as we currently have table cloths on the tables.                                                                                                                     
 
Treasurer Report              Dan Best
Best stated that Club Member and CPA Tracey Regula is currently working on the 990 IRS Report.  Also, the Ohio Division of Unclaimed Funds report will be submitted prior to the due date of November 1, 2021. 
Best reported that the September 2021 month-end net worth increased $4,038 compared to September 2020. For the current fiscal year to-date net income decreased by $4,788 compared to the same time period in 2020. Dues’ income increased by $1,223 but expenses for meal costs and District 6600 dues increased by a total of $8,193. These increases are due to the increase in member meetings compared to the 2020 pandemic year.  Best also reviewed a new report to reflect the Club’s working capital (current assets-current liabilities). Current working capital is $12,241. Also, he reviewed aged Accounts Receivable.                                                                                                                                            Fitzgerald and Best are scheduled to meet with the Foundation Board before their regularly scheduled meeting on October 25, 2021.  Farley made a motion to approve the Treasurer’s Report as submitted.  Horner seconded the motion.  Board approved.

Fry made a motion to accept their resignations with regret.  Stemen seconded the motion.  Board approved.
 
There being no further business, Wannemacher made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 12:42 PM.  Buettner seconded the motion.  Board approved.
