Greetings from President Paul Swartz.
WELCOME to the Rotary Club of Lima’s website. I personally invite you to have a look at what Rotary has to offer you and what’s coming up this year!

WHAT’S ROTARY? Rotary is a global network of 1.2 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who come together to make positive, lasting change in communities at home and abroad.

The Rotary Club of Lima was established in 1915 and currently has 170 members, called “Rotarians.”  Rotarians create a global network of community and business leaders, and technical experts who share the common mission of promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, saving mothers and children, supporting education, and growing local economies.

Every year, the Rotary International President chooses a theme to unify the 35,000 clubs that exist in over 200 countries and task us with a common purpose.  The theme by 2018-2019 Rotary International President Barry Rassin is, Rotary: Be the Inspiration. President Rassin says that Rotary is not only a model but an inspiration. It shows us what is possible, inspires us to reach for it, and gives us a path to act-and to Be the Inspiration to our world.

I invite you to join the Rotary Club of Lima to meet the challenge set by President Rassin, to be an inspiration for our families, our community, and the world.

I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as President for the 2018-2019 year in a club with such rich heritage and history of making a difference in the community.  Each of our former Presidents has brought new ideas and visions to our club and my goal will be to continue that heritage.

WHAT WE DO: We have many annual events including our spring and fall blood clinic, Rex Perry golf tournament, Dictionary Distribution, Post –Secondary Scholarships, International Global Water project, among many other fun events and projects. However, Polio eradication is Rotary’s top philanthropic priority. It is the world’s largest public-private health initiative, partnering with governments, international organizations, and countless local and regional health agencies to eradicate polio. Through 2020 The Gates Foundation will match 2-1 with any gift given to eradicate polio through the Rotary Polio Plus initiative. Since 1985 Rotary has raised $1.7 billion to help eradicate this disease. Please contact us if you would want to partner with us in this great initiative.

We meet each Monday at 12PM at the Lima Veterans Civic Center in the North Hall and the fourth Tuesday of every month we have a social hour from 5PM-6PM at the MET.

If you are a visiting Rotarian, please join us for a weekly meeting.  If you are interested in learning more about Rotary in our community, we encourage you to go to www.limarotary.com for more information.

This website will assist you in finding information concerning meetings, future events and contacts.  To find out more about Rotary around the world visit the Rotary International website at www.rotary.org

It is with great enthusiasm that I invite you to join us to “Be the Inspiration,” at home and abroad.
