The Pedal Against Poverty Tour has hit the road.

If you ever find yourself grinding up a hill on a bike and asking the question, ‘Why on earth am I doing this?', you’d better have a good answer. And our team has a great answer to this.

The Pedal Against Poverty tour is on day 20 of the cycling challenge. It has taken a lot of time to train and organize the entire cycle and we are happy that it has finally hit the road.

We are looking forward to a very fruitful seven more days of creating awareness of the importance of sanitation in rural schools and also raising money to build proper toilets for the schools.

Our aim is to build 10 toilet blocks in rural East Africa.  There are so many stories of schools that have been closed down due to the lack of proper toilets. And we can change this.

With the help of donations from people like you and your rotary clubs, we will be able to reach more schools that need our help.

School toilets are important. Kids cannot possibly learn when they feel unsafe, and they cannot possibly feel safe when they are scared to go when they gotta go.

They cannot concentrate on their work when they’re worried about holding in a wee, when they’re dehydrated on a hot day, or when they’re scared their menstrual pad is going to leak.
Toilets are often seen as a joke, but the trauma experienced by these kids is real. We would like you to support a team member in the Pedal Against Poverty Nz tour. HERE.
