Following the annual meeting, the club held a special meeting to discuss the amphitheater.
There is a MOU between the Rotary Club, The City of Lima and the Civic and Convention Center that requires a capital replacement reserve fund totaling $150,000 to be used specifically for the long-term capital replacement needs of the Greater Lima Region Park and Amphitheater. The fund is to be raised over a 5-year period beginning in 2022 and is in addition to the city’s annual estimated $30,000 cost for general operation and maintenance. The Greater Lima Region will likely commit to providing $75,000 of the replacement reserve. The Lima Rotary Club's continued fundraising for the amphitheater is expected cover the other half. The club voted to use funds from the Lima Rotary Foundation to cover that commitment in case we are not able to raise the money from other sources.
