From meatballs to sushi, John Heaphy shares his 42 years in Lima's restaurant scene.
Lima Rotarians received an interesting overview of the career of local restaurant owner John Heaphy. He shared his long history of hard work and taking chances. Some of his earlier ventures weren’t as successful as others but he has had an amazing journey which has led him to being the owner of the wildly successful and growing full service Beer Barrel Pizza restaurants, the popular Happy Daz fast food locations, and the one of a kind steakhouse and entertainment venue, Old City Prime.

John said he loves Lima and he loves what he is doing. He especially enjoys the collaboration with his son who he refers to as his friend and trusted business partner.

He told Lima Rotarians that the COVID-19 pandemic has offered unique challenges but has also lead him to moving a new and exciting project a head on his schedule. A brand new Beer Barrel Pizza will be built on Harding Highway in Bath Township this fall.

From washing dishes at the Milano Club to learning to make pizzas from his uncle, John has spent his entire life in the restaurant business. He said he is excited about the future and loves the opportunity to invest in Lima. He is extremely excited about all of the projects happening downtown and says we must seize this great opportunity.
