Here are the highlights of the July 11th board meeting.
Call to Order                                                                                                               Lesley Fry
President Lesley Fry called the meeting to order at 11:42 A.M. with the following board members present:
Lesley Fry, Derek Stemen, Tim Stanford, Elizabeth Brown-Ellis, Richard Warren, Katy Page and Demi Burden. Also, Secretary Anne Decker and Amy Ricker were present.

Approval of the June 13, 2023 Board Meeting Minutes
Stanford made a motion to approve the minutes of the June 13, 2023 board meeting as submitted. Page seconded the motion. Board approved.
 
Attendance Report for June 2023 
One new member joined the club and three members resigned in June. June attendance was 44.52%. The month ended with 144 active members and 3 honorary members.            
 
President’s Report                                                                                                     Lesley Fry
Amphitheater Grand Opening
The grand opening of the Greater Lima Region Park and Amphitheater is scheduled for August 2-6. Events include a children and family day, arts festival, hog roast and nationally-known bands. There will be a formal ribbon cutting on Monday, July 31 at 1:15 P.M., immediately following the regular club meeting. A committee of Rotarians and City of Lima leadership is coordinating the ribbon cutting and sending out invitations.
Allen County Fair Ticket Takers
The Lima Rotary Club will be ticket takers for the grandstand events at the 2023 fair for a $1,000 donation to the club. Decker sent an email to members who expressed interest in volunteering and has filled approximately half the shifts. She will contact those she has not yet received a reply from to fill the other shifts, then club members and Interact members will be asked to volunteer.
Rex Perry Memorial Golf Outing
Fry reported that sponsors have been secured for the golf outing and invoices have been sent to them. Chair Andy Wannemacher is still recruiting volunteers and gathering door prizes. Goodie bags will be stuffed by club members at the regular club meeting prior to the outing.
Raffle
Tickets for the raffle have been printed and will be on sale beginning at the July 17 club meeting. Jon Neeper is chairing the raffle and will keep a spreadsheet of those who have purchased tickets and members who have signed out tickets to sell. 400 tickets are being sold for $25 each. Monthly drawings will be held beginning in October for the $100 cash prizes. The prize will be $500 for the months of November and December. Winning tickets will be placed back in the hopper and be eligible to win again.
Proposal for Rotary Brand Protection Committee
Cat Sarno has proposed the creation of a Brand Protection Committee that will audit past, current and future club projects that bear the Rotary name, signage, image or any associated aspects of the Lima Rotary Club to make sure the projects are being maintained and represent our name and image well. Brown-Ellis made a motion to approve the creation of the committee. Stanford seconded the motion. Board approved.
The committee will be named Brand and Identity and will be a subcommittee of the Public Image committee.

New Office
Decker informed the board that the Better Business Bureau is selling its building at 219 N. McDonel Street where the Lima Rotary Club has its office and storage. Tracie Sanchez has graciously offered the club space in one of her buildings on Central Avenue. She is providing manpower to move the contents of the office on July 13th.
 
Treasurer’s Report                                                                                                     Amy Ricker
Ricker shared information from the Profit and Loss Statement and Balance Sheet. The club’s total income through June 30, 2023 is $106,974.97. Total expenses are $104,528.00. Net income is $2,446.97. Burden moved to approve the Treasurer’s Report. Stemen seconded the motion. Board approved.
 
New Member Applications
Julia Klingler – Lima Allen County Chamber of Commerce
Stanford made a motion to accept the new member applications. Stemen seconded the motion. Board approved.

Resignations
There were no resignations.
 
Motion To Adjourn
Stemen made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Warren seconded the motion. Fry adjourned the meeting at 12:51 P.M.
