Here are the highlights from the September 10th board meeting.
Call to Order                                                                                                               Demi Burden
President Demi Burden called the meeting to order at 11:38 A.M. with the following board members present: Demi Burden, Russ Decker, Jennifer Mason and Corey Frazer. Also, Treasurer Tracey Regula, Secretary Anne Decker and bookkeeper Amy Ricker were present. A quorum was not present.

Approval of the August 13, 2024 Board Meeting Minutes
A quorum was not present to vote on the minutes.
 
Attendance Report for August 2024 
No new members joined the club and four members resigned in August. August attendance was 39.449%. The month ended with 143 active members and 2 honorary members.     
 
President’s Report                                                                                                     Demi Burden
Billy Gladwell Fundraiser
Mentalist Billy Gladwell has offered to perform for a fundraiser for the Lima Rotary Club. The board discussed this and tabled the issue for further discussion at the October meeting.
 
World Polio Day
World Polio Day is October 24. Dr. Susan Hubbell will make a presentation about polio at the October 21 meeting and PolioPlus Chair Keith Horner will announce this year’s PolioPlus campaign at the meeting.
 
District Governor Visit
Rotary District 6600 Governor Tim Ryan will speak to the club on October 28. He will meet with both boards at 11:00am that morning.
 
Special Needs Christmas Party
The Special Needs Christmas Party has been scheduled for December 7 at Shawnee United Methodist Church. Burden will schedule a committee meeting in October.
 
Holiday Extravaganza
The Lima Rotary Clubs Holiday Extravaganza is December 16. Co-chair Russ Decker reported that there will be live and silent auctions and entertainment.
 
Rose Parade Float
Burden authorized a donation of $25 to the building of the Rotary International float that will be in the Rose Parade.
 
Pickleball Tournament
Burden reported that plans continue to be made for the club to host a pickleball tournament in 2025 as a fundraiser. Burden will meet with personnel from the Lima Fire Department to see how they run their tournament.

Rex Perry Memorial Golf Outing
Ricker reported that there are still some outstanding invoices, but the Rex Perry Memorial Golf Outing is expected to raise approximately $27,000 for the club’s scholarship fund.
 
Holiday Home Tour
Russ Decker stated that five homes have been secured for the Holiday Home Tour on December 1, 2024. The committee is working with florists and bakeries to provide decorations and sweets at the homes. Tickets will be on sale in November.
 
Treasurer’s Report                                                                                                     Tracey Regula          
Regula shared information from the club’s Profit and Loss Statement and Balance Sheet. The club’s total income through August 31, 2024 is $35,007.00. Total expenses are $31,168.53. Net income is $3,838.47.
A quorum was not present to vote on the treasurer’s report.
 
New Business                                                                                                             Demi Burden
New Member Applications
New member applications were received from Cameron Garver – Director of Sales and Marketing at Custom Staffing, and Jason Bice – Funeral Director Apprentice at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
A quorum was not present to vote on the applications.
 
Resignation
Theresa Schnipke – effective September 30, 2024.
A quorum was not present to vote on the resignation.
 
Reinstatement
Ann Meiring – Financial Advisor at Citizens National Bank
A quorum was not present to vote on the reinstatement.
